About Us

A slice of America in Old Town

down to the last bolt

James Dean Prague isn’t a film set, it’s a collection. We pieced together the mosaic, the bar, the jukebox and the underground gas station bit by bit, so you’d feel like you just walked into 1950s America. Here’s the story.

A diner that grabs you at the door

Step inside and a pillar covered in a mosaic of 67,000 pieces of chipped ceramic stops you in your tracks. Together they form James Dean and Marilyn Monroe, and a master artist spent three months on it. Watchmaker-level work, literally.

You sit in booths modeled on the seats of a 1952 Chevrolet Bel Air. They were custom-made for us, so you won’t find them anywhere else.

The wood paneling and mirrors are dressed with 15 airbrushed paintings. Each one is an original that took three to five days to make.

Sixteen meters of bar

The solid wood bar stretches an incredible 16 meters and is a work of art all by itself.

  • It’s ruled by an Elektra Belle Epoque espresso machine with a Java Dreams scene of the holy trinity hanging out at the bar: James Dean, Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley.
  • Right next to it rings a fully working Coca-Cola No. 721 cash register. You’ll even hear its “Cha-Ching” on our website when you send a booking.
  • By the entrance, a 1949 SEEBURG Coca-Cola jukebox keeps the tunes coming, the only one of its kind in all of continental Europe.

Restrooms worth a photo

Upstairs it’s Andy Warhol-style pop art, downstairs it’s pure industrial. The star of the show? Kisses! urinals, originally designed for JFK Airport in New York. Yes, people take pictures in here too.

The Music Club lives underground

Behind the stage, James Dean tears across a red brick wall on his motorcycle, hand-airbrushed in life size. In front of the mural hangs the very same machine: an original 1955 Triumph Trophy.

Then it’s a steep way down, into the belly of an old American subway. Waiting at the bottom is an American gas station: a couch made from a Lincoln Continental, the rest of the car in the Lincoln lounge next to an original US parking meter, a rusty gas pump and barrels to park your drink on.

The dance floor is ruled by a hand-forged cage where dancers in retro costumes perform every night. The lower bar is lined with leather Harley-Davidson seats and named after Dean’s most famous film: Rebel Without a Cause.

Every sign is the real deal

Lights, valves, gauges and pipes from old factories. License plates, everyday objects and photos with documented 1950s provenance. Every single sign is a genuine vintage original from America. Look closely and you’ll find treasure in every corner.

Sounds and flavors you won’t find elsewhere

The club runs on an American Eastern Acoustic Works sound system with QSC gear. We didn’t cut corners on the modern stuff either.

We’re the only place in the Czech Republic pouring Coca-Cola Vanilla, Village Organics organic juices and NUMI organic teas.
